Test Case
This documents shows how to manage test cases in odi test manager.
Prerequisites
It is essential to obtain a "Create Plan/TC" role in prior to be able to create a test plan. You may refer to User Management for detail
Manage test cases
Create a test case
Please follow steps below in order to create a test case in odi test manager
- Move into a project by clicking "Project" menu at the top, choose a project by clicking either a key or project name from projects listed
- Click "TestCases" from the left side bar
- A "TestCaes" page may appear. Click a "Create TestCase" button at the top-right corner
- "New TestCase" dialog appears. Enter following information accordingly:
- TestCase type
- Priority
- Requirement
A Jira Key to be entered here in order to track an issue from Jira - Category
- TestCase Name
- Tags
- Pre-Condition
- Press the "Save" button at the bottom of the dialog to save the information once done
Modify a test case
Followings show necessary steps to modify a test case
- Click "TestCases" from the left side bar
- Choose and click a Key of a test case from a list to modify
- Once a detailed information page for the chosen test plan appears, directly edit values for given fields and once done, click "Save" button at the top right corner
Manage test steps in a test case
Create test steps
Followings show necessary steps to add a test step in a selected test case
- Click "TestCases" from the left side bar
- Choose and click a Key of a test case to which (a) test step(s) will be assigned
- From "Test Step List" panel at the bottom, a "Create" button at the right corner can be found. Press it
- A "Test Step" may appear. Fill in those fields:
- Test Step
- Test Data
- click a "Save" button to save the test step.
Modify a test step
Followings show necessary steps to modify a test step in a given test case
- click "Project" from the top menu > choose a project from projects > click TestCases in the left panel > choose a test case > Observe "Test Step List" panel at the bottom
- From the list, choose a test step and click an "Edit" button from the "Action" column
- Click "Save" button once all modified
Delete a test step
Please follow steps below in order to delete a test step
- click "Project" from the top menu > choose a project from projects > click TestCases in the left panel > choose a test case > Observe "Test Step List" panel at the bottom
- From the list, choose a test step and click an "Delete" button from the "Action" column
- Click "OK" button once a confirmation message appears
Sequence changes for test steps
The below show required steps to change a sequence of test steps
- click "Project" from the top menu > choose a project from projects > click TestCases in the left panel > choose a test case > Observe "Test Step List" panel at the bottom
- click "Up" or "Down" from the "Action" column for a test step needed to be sequence changed
Copy a test case (Yet to be implemented. available soon)
Steps below can be followed in order to copy a test case
- click "Project" from the top menu > choose a project from projects > click TestCases in the left panel > choose a test case > Observe a upper panel
- click a "Copy" button from the top right corner in the panel
- A "Copy TestCase" dialog appears, then choose a project to be copied from and then click a "Copy TestCase" button.
